Biography

I have been working within the fitness industry about 10 years in various roles, from teaching classes to 1-1 training. I have worked with all age ranges covering most types of illnesses. Over the years of being a fitness instructor I have found myself wanting to help people by spending more quality time with individuals on a personal level. I have found it easy to talk to people and build a friendly rapport. This is what encouraged me to become a personal trainer. Additionally, this made me realise I enjoyed seeing people achieve things they had previously struggled with. This gave me a real sense of satisfaction and inspired me to share my knowledge with others.

With a kind and friendly approach, and a clear goal in sight for the client we can both work towards the end result. This can be achieved by being open and honest with both the client and trainer. Therefore the client is accountable for the realistic goals that are set at the start. Measurements can be taken at the beginning as a start point and again at the end to show improvements. This also proves to the client the goal is attainable.

Becoming GP referral qualified has made me more knowledgeable with relevant everyday illnesses such as obesity and mental health to name a few. This knowledge has encouraged me to carry on learning and improving myself.

Having a fantastic time training with Gary, he likes to shake things up when training and keep it exciting. When I started training I struggled to find motivation, but I’m Now committing and seeing results for it too. Don’t put obstacles in your way today, get moving .

"I’ve been training with Gary for almost 7 months now, and believe he is one of the most experienced, committed and knowledgeable trainers around. I started training once a week, really enjoyed the variety and challenges he put into the sessions when I attended his spin classes and then took on a personal one-on-one session as well!
I must be a glutton for punishment.

Gary is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (and somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I have seen improvements in my abilities. I can now complete more sit ups / core exercises, lift progressively heavier weights and generally push myself harder throughout each session. I find I look forward to my workouts now, my confidence within myself has grown and been lifted with the help of Gary and attending the gym isn’t so scary!

– He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries.

– He is extremely reliable & punctual – always set up & ready to start training ahead of time, with an exercise routine planned.

"After taking part in a few of Gary’s spin classes I noticed that he was enthusiastic and very motivating which made me feel at ease. I have been training with Gary for a year now. He has helped me address my posture which has been causing me issues in my everyday life. He has gone out he’s way to find alternative exercises and stretches that have greatly helped improve my posture.  It has helped me feel more body confident and I have become more determined with my workouts.
