Biography

My fitness journey started after a difficult time in my life, when I decided that I wanted to do more and feel better about myself. I started following well known athletes on social media and started getting drawn in to the benefits of a healthier and fitter lifestyle, which then lead me to do my qualifications and change my passion into a career. 

I believe that fitness is not just about physical fitness but mental fitness, exercise is there to be enjoyed. Like everyone else I had to start somewhere, but I soon realised that it was the best decision I ever made. My confidence levels improved, I felt happier and more energetic and at the same time I was improving my fitness and health. Helping people to achieve similar outcomes and to see others feeling happier and working towards their own goals is the best job satisfaction I could ask for. 

If you see me in the gym feel free to ask me any questions I am more than happy to help. I am here to help you reach your goals as well as keep each session enjoyable while making progress.

I have Kathyn once a fortnight. She gives me exercises to do at my local gym. I have hypermobity, hyperexetened knee, Coeliac,,IBS, low blood pressure. I just had a big knee operation 1yr and 3months ago. Kathyn is amazing, she is helping me strengthening my body, my core and toning up. Before I started with Kathyn I lost a lot of weight and I went to my local gym twice a week. But since I started with Kathyn a month ago I feel more confident and my family and friends have noticed a difference. I am getting stronger and lost quite a lot of inches. But I have good days and bad days. But not many bad knees. Anyone can do this. Thank you to Kathyn for being friendly and giving you good advice. I would of ended up in a wheel chair by now. But the doctor said if you keep doing what you are doing you might not, which I am pleased about. Kirsty McGuiness

“After experiencing ,limb loss and life changing injuries in May 2018 it took me 7 months to pluck up the courage to join a gym and being my usual, impatient self I was doing more harm than good with my very limited knowledge on training and gung ho attitude. Kathryn began training me one on one and I've found her knowledge and enthusiasm second to none,the difference in strength over an 8 week period is motivation for me to go further and I'm glad I have Kathryn supporting me,I joined her personal fitness training while confined to a mobility scooter most of the time but with her help I'm walking again and amazed the surgeons with my progress. “Hi my name is Mike and I’m 46 I started my journey at the end of October 2018 I was unfit and have type 2 diabetes which I control by 2 tablets a day and I knew that if I didn’t do anything about my health things would start to go down hill so I took it on to start to get fitter. I was introduced to Kathryn through a friend I went and had a consultation with her I explained to her about my diabetes and that I wanted to change to a better healthier person so I started my journey there and then. Kathryn made me a training plan that we follow and alter as we go along every week on her tablet so she can record everything we have covered and how i've made progress over the weeks, we work hard and she knows how far to push me on from week to week. She also gives me good advice on what to eat and I make a note of this on a weekly planner that she gives me, it has now been 4 months and the change in me is fantastic i've gone from feeling not so good to feeling great I couldn’t run 100 meters at the beginning now with all the work that we put in week after week my body is much stronger i've a lot of core strength and my running has improved to that I’m now running 10 miles with ease. I've given myself a few challenges this year which is two half marathons a 100 mile bike ride and if I can get an entry I’m planning on a 33 mile ultra marathon in November. I've dropped a good waist size, I feel fantastic with in myself and also with my diabetes I’m only on one tablet a day now so that’s also heading in the right direction, I can’t thank Kathryn enough for how she has changed my life I’m so pleased I met her I look forward to our training sessions every week things are now heading the right way if I could give anybody some advice is that changes can happen and I’m loving my journey and you could too”  Mike Nixon

But the support and infectious sunny nature Kathryn offers has got me out of bed twice a week!
