Unsung Heroes: PT of the Year 2026

YOUR Personal Training Blog
28th April 2026

In every gym across the UK, there are personal trainers quietly changing lives. They're the first ones in and the last ones out. They support, motivate, and inspire, often without recognition. This award is for them.

Unsung Heroes: PT of the Year is a new UK-wide award launched in 2026 by YOUR Personal Training, in partnership with Men's Fitness and Women's Fitness. It recognises the trainers who consistently go above and beyond for their clients. Two winners will be selected, one through Men's Fitness and one through Women's Fitness, and the competition is open to every personal trainer in the UK.

YOUR Personal Training has supported more than 5,000 personal trainers across over 420 UK gym and leisure sites since 2008. This campaign reflects what we've always believed: the people who shape the UK fitness industry deserve to be recognised properly.

What Makes an Unsung Hero?

We're looking for stories that showcase:

  • Dedication beyond the job description
  • Genuine care for clients
  • Resilience in the face of challenges
  • Consistency, humility, and passion

This could be a PT supporting clients through life-changing journeys, a coach living with a debilitating condition or overcoming personal adversity, or someone who simply shows up every day and gives their all.

Who Can Enter?

  • Personal trainers can nominate themselves
  • Clients can nominate their PT
  • Friends or colleagues can nominate a PT

How Winners Are Decided

A panel of experts from YOUR Personal Training, alongside the editors of Women's Fitness and Men's Fitness, will review all entries and select winners based on the strength and impact of each story. Submissions are judged anonymously.

The fitness industry is built on people who care deeply about others. This campaign is about celebrating positivity, recognising real impact, and sharing inspiring stories.
