YOUR Personal Training named a finalist at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026

YOUR Personal Training Blog
23rd July 2026

We're incredibly proud to share that YOUR Personal Training has been named a finalist for The Business Enabler of the Year Award at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026.

In a record year for entries, being named among the finalists is a huge moment for our team, but more importantly, it's recognition of a philosophy we've believed in since the day we started.

We don't think gyms need more Personal Trainers, we think they need Personal Trainers who stay… because when coaches build lasting careers, everybody wins.

Members receive better coaching. Operators build stronger, more profitable PT businesses. Trainers earn more, develop professionally and create careers they're proud of.

That's the business we've spent the last 18 years building.

We all know that the fitness industry has a retention problem. Too often, talented Personal Trainers leave within their first few months, taking with them client relationships, recurring revenue, trust and momentum. Every departure means another recruitment cycle and another opportunity lost. We've always believed there was a better way.

Instead of simply helping gyms recruit trainers, we've focused on helping trainers build businesses worth staying for. That means ongoing mentoring, education, marketing support, career development and technology that genuinely makes life easier not just for trainers, but for the operators we work alongside every day.

The result? Our trainers stay with us for more than 30 months on average, compared with an industry norm of around five to seven months.

That's not just a statistic. It's thousands of stronger client relationships, more stable PT businesses and more profitable gym floors across the UK.

Today, YOUR Personal Training works with operators across more than 420 gym and leisure sites.

We've continued investing in technology like PT Loop and The Hub, giving operators and trainers the systems, data and education they need to spend less time managing problems and more time creating opportunities.

Innovation only matters if it makes people's working lives better and that's always been our focus.

Awards like this are never won by one person or one department.

They're built by hundreds of conversations, thousands of coaching sessions, operators who trust us with their businesses and Personal Trainers who choose to build their careers with us.

So while we're incredibly proud to be recognised, this achievement belongs just as much to our partners, our trainers and every member of the YOUR Personal Training team.

Thank you for believing in what we're building. We're only just getting started.

The award category is called The Business Enabler of the Year Award.

We'd describe it a little differently: We help gyms build stronger businesses by helping Personal Trainers build better careers, and everything else follows from that.

And we're incredibly proud that this approach has been recognised on one of the UK's biggest business stages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Business Enabler of the Year award?

The Business Enabler of the Year is a category at the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards that recognises businesses whose work helps other businesses grow and succeed. In plain terms, it celebrates the company behind other companies' results. For YOUR Personal Training, that means helping gyms keep their Personal Trainers, grow their PT income and give trainers careers that last, rather than simply filling vacancies. YOUR Personal Training has been named a 2026 finalist in the category.

What are the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards?

The Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards are the UK's largest and most prestigious business awards programme, recognising leading businesses across every industry. Headlined by Lloyds Bank, with ITV as media partner and the support of the UK government, the programme shortlists almost 200 finalists across 20 categories each year. The 2026 winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at Grosvenor House, London, on Tuesday 10 November 2026. YOUR Personal Training is a 2026 finalist in the Business Enabler of the Year category.

What does YOUR Personal Training do?

YOUR Personal Training is the UK's largest self-employed personal training career platform. It places and supports self-employed Personal Trainers in gyms and leisure sites across more than 420 locations, and recruits trainers across nine countries. Each trainer runs their own business on the gym floor, backed by mentoring, education, marketing support and technology, so they can build a lasting career rather than leave the industry early. Current personal trainer jobs are listed on the YOUR Personal Training website.

Why do personal trainers leave gyms so quickly?

Most Personal Trainers leave gyms within their first few months, taking client relationships, recurring revenue and momentum with them, and it usually comes down to a lack of support to build a viable business. This is the problem YOUR Personal Training was built to solve. Rather than placing a trainer and stepping away, it provides ongoing mentoring, business education, marketing support and technology such as PT Loop and The Hub, so trainers build stable, profitable businesses on the gym floor. The result is retention: its trainers stay for more than 30 months on average, against an industry norm of around five to seven months.
