I am a Lifestyle Transformation Coach, Personal Trainer, former Army Medic and former NHS Doctor.

Before becoming a PT, I spent 6 years working as a hospital doctor and 5 years serving as a reservist in the British Army, where fitness became a way of life. Today I no longer practice clinically, but use my expertise to help others achieve their goals.

As a lifestyle transformation specialist, I help you to optimise the lifestyle factors that science shows are key to longterm health. In addition to tailored exercise and nutrition guidance, we will work on other key areas of lifestyle including sleep and stress management. My clients receive a comprehensive lifestyle assessment, from which we design a personalised roadmap to lasting change.

My approach is evidence-based and keeps your goals front and centre. I work with all ages, genders and fitness levels. Whether you’re an elite athlete or beginner, my expert guidance can help you on your fitness journey.

As a queer, neurodivergent person, I understand the gym environment can feel intimidating, but I’m here to help. If you see me around, please say hi - I’m always happy to discuss ways of working together to achieve your goals.

I highly recommend Dr. Hugh's training! We had a great initial meeting to discuss my goals and challenges and from the first session we've been following a fantastic tailored plan which Hugh has taken the initiative to adapt as things move along, according to my progress and the different challenges I've encountered. Hugh is very thoughtful and kind and has immense expertise that he's willing to share throughout the sessions, so feel you are in very competent hands. I'm looking forward to continuing our sessions and getting stronger and fitter with Hugh's help!

Hugh is a wonderful trainer: kind, thorough, patient, attentive but also tough when he needs to be! He is always alert to your needs and insecurities. He will work with you to devise a thorough plan for the workouts he thinks might help you reach your goal(s). And when that plan is in place, he is just a very nice person to spend your precious time in the gym with.

Hugh has been a great support in helping me prepare for my first ever half marathon (aged 61!) He taught me the importance of resistance training to prevent injury, alongside running, and has been a great in helping me stay motivated. I'm pleased to say I completed the (very hilly) event injury free and with negligible DOMS last Sunday. Thank you Hugh!

Hugh gave me a taster PT session and what he taught me made so much sense. He described exactly what was needed to strengthen the muscles of my body, which at my age (I'm in my 70s) is really needed to help avoid losing muscle. Having now done the exercises for a few days since my session I can already feel the benefit - I  feel stronger and more flexible and it t has also helped me feel more confident in myself. I can highly recommend Hugh!
