I’m Joe Aliker, a UKSCA-accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach and Level 3 Personal Trainer with over a decade of experience helping people unlock their potential — from beginners finding confidence in the gym to athletes chasing peak performance.

Originally from Cambridge, I grew up immersed in sport before turning my passion for human performance into a full-time career. Over the years, I’ve seen one thing proven time and again: when you train with structure, purpose, and progression, everything changes.

At One Leisure Huntingdon, my goal is simple — to help you train smarter, move better, and finally achieve results that last. Through 1-1 Personal Training and The Breakthrough Method, you’ll build genuine strength, confidence, and consistency that fits your lifestyle.

For athletes, I also deliver Sports Performance Coaching, focused on power, mobility, and resilience tailored to your sport.

Joe is exactly what I needed. I’d been in a real rut, doing the same machines, same weights, no real progress for years. I knew I could be doing more but didn’t know where to start and didn’t want to look foolish. Joe's coaching gave me a clear plan and the confidence to move beyond the basics. I’m now doing proper strength exercises, moving better, and feel stronger and healthier than I have in a decade. It’s taken the guesswork out of training and made the gym enjoyable again. 100% recommend Joe!

Joe's program 'The Breakthrough Method' has been fantastic. I had been doing the same routine over and over againand really needed a change up. I felt nervous about trying anything new and genuinely believed free weights were ‘not for people my age’, so I never pushed myself beyond what felt safe and familiar.

Starting this program was a bit of a leap for me, but it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Everything was explained in such a simple, reassuring way, and I never felt out of my depth. I learned how to move properly, how to lift safely, and slowly my confidence started to build. Exercises that once looked intimidating now feel completely manageable, and I actually look forward to my sessions.

The difference in how I feel day to day is huge. I’m noticeably stronger, my joints feel looser and less achy, and I’ve got more energy for everyday life. Even simple things like walking, carrying shopping, or getting up from a chair feel easier.

More than anything, I feel in control again. The gym no longer feels like a place I have to tolerate, it’s somewhere I go knowing I’m improving myself each time. I only wish I’d started sooner. Its a big thumbs up from me.

Returning to the gym after two years of being completely inactive was a big step for me. At first, I was just trying to get back into a routine, but I quickly became bored with my usual workouts. I approached Joe in the gym because there were a number of exercises I wasn’t sure I could do. He was very friendly and patient. I had been using the fixed equipment for most of the time and had reached a plateau. Joe showed me a number of exercises that have yielded results in a short time. I’m abit anxious in the gym and still rely on Joe a lot, but he’s honestly been great. He’s patient, supportive, and never makes me feel stupid for needing reassurance (which I do… a lot). He gently pushes me when I can handle it and helps me build confidence without pressure. I feel safe, supported, and way more comfortable than when I started. Would definitely recommend, especially if the gym makes you nervous.

Great PT coach. I recommend to use Joe. He’s will push you to your absolute best. He made sure he prioritised my workouts for boxing. I've really enjoyed working with Joe. He has really listened to my needs. I've been impressed with his knowledge on assisting people with Arthritis, which is my case, and I can already feel some improvement in strength and movement, even though I've only been following my carefully constructed program for a little while.
