Hey, I’m Shahed! I’m a Personal Trainer at the Maindy Centre and Women’s Coaching Specialist. I once believed “show up and sweat” was enough. Spoiler alert: it isn’t. After being diagnosed with PCOS and later endometriosis, I realised motivation without a roadmap is just guesswork. I hit reset and focused on women’s physiology, clean lifting technique, nutrition foundations and sleep. With a clear program and better form, my strength went up, my cycle settled and my head felt clearer.

How I coach (simple and human):
- Move with respect. Exercise is a thank-you to your body, not a punishment.
- Master the basics. Solid form beats flashy moves.
- Look at the whole picture. Work, stress, food, sleep… yes, everything counts!

I couldn’t recommend Shahed enough. I found her approach to training really refreshing and despite not having had any sessions together in over a year, I still continue to use what I’ve learnt from Shahed and continue to progress with my goals.

While I’d been going to the gym for a while before I started working with Shahed, my progress felt very stagnant. We worked on correcting my form, choosing exercies I enjoyed and focussing on improving my lifestyle to manage my PCOS.

Shahed is such a lovely person and made me feel really comfortable. She improved my confidence in the gym, my relationship with my body and I can’t thank her enough. I loved working with her.

Training with Shahd has been genuinely life-changing. She’s empathetic, professional and truly cares about every client. Her workouts are never cookie-cutter.. they’re creative, personalised, and always fun!

She helped me overcome my fear of weights and showed me how empowering it is to build muscle. More importantly, she’s helped me heal years of body image issues and learn to love my body for all it does for me. She’s also helped me develop my knowledge on nutrition. I now enjoy a balanced and healthy diet without feeling guilty about eating!

Before I started with Shah I had failed a few times to have a routine at gym. Shah helped me get not only motivated but also excited about going to the gym, explaining the exercises well, but also tailoring the sessions to what I needed, instead of expecting me to get everything right on one explanation, she would try different approaches until one would stick, she adapted the trainings to my style better than I could have ever expected, now I am fitter than ever and still going strong at the gym! All thanks to Shah and her dedication and attention on our sessions!

Shahed approached me when she saw me confused in the gym on my first day there after a long break from exercise. She helped familiarise myself with the equipment I can use for my target of that day. She offered to help me with some exercies and she suggested alternatives. She had the patience to listen why I was struggling with different forms and proposed new ones. I really liked her approach to training which was more like a discovery than a goal to be reached and made me feel more comfortable about not being at my best shape. I would highly recommend her to beginners that feel any form of shame to go to the gym. Most importantly to people that are sick of the "bro mentality" most personal trainers have.

I've had PTs in the past and had been working out for a couple of years, but after starting with Shah, it felt like I had no idea what I was doing this entire time. She showed me that going to the gym doesn't have to be something you dread every other day - you can reap so many benefits and you don't have to get burned out to get there, all it takes is consistency, patience and faith in the process. She noticed limitations I had and structured my programs and sessions to work around those - for example, hypermobility and imbalances. I've learned so much about my body and how to make it work not just hard, but also smart, in a way that is sustainable and allows me to keep going, injury-free. It's a different approach than what you see in social media, where influencers basically preach you need to do insane amounts of volume at the gym in order to see results. You get hit with so much misinformation and a reality that is just not applicable for people who are not body builders - and sadly, it's easy to think all that is normal. I'm grateful that Shah helped me see through that and build a gym journey I'm proud of and excited to keep going. I've hit milestones I couldn't have dreamed of in the past, crushing weights I only admired from a distance back then. To top it all off, I find that she's a really caring and thoughtful person - I feel heard and respected during my sessions. I can't recommend her enough.

Shahed is truly the best Personal Trainer anyone could ever have. She is an exceptionally talented coach with a unique, individualized approach for every person she works with. While many can be PTs, not everyone can be a real coach like Shahed. Someone who motivates you, supports you, and always greets you with a warm, energizing smile that keeps you going.

When I first started at the gym, I was completely lost. My form was poor, I had constant lower back pain, low confidence, and several muscular imbalances. I spent hours on cardio, thinking I was training effectively, but I felt intimidated by the free weights section until I met Shahed. From our very first interaction, I felt safe, heard, and understood.

Shahed trained me for 13 months, and during that time, my confidence soared. I became stronger and more capable, all thanks to her incredible coaching and expertly designed training programs. When I first met her, I had a major imbalance in my right arm and wrist due to an old injury. I couldn’t even hold a cup, and lifting anything felt impossible. With Shahed’s guidance, not only did I start lifting weights safely, but I also gained the skill and strength to perform perfect push-ups. She also helped me safely regain strength in my right leg while managing sciatica. Her wide-ranging knowledge is impressive, and her support helped lift my anxiety and depression significantly.

Shahed didn’t just improve my fitness, she transformed my relationship with exercise. She taught me that training should be effective, enjoyable, and never painful. Beyond the gym, she educated me on the importance of sleep, hydration, nutrition, and stress management, teaching me how these factors truly impact overall health and wellbeing.

As someone with mental health struggles and being neurodivergent, training at a gym can be challenging, but with Shahed, I always felt safe, supported, and understood. Choosing her as my coach was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and she has genuinely changed my life for the better.
