I have over 18 years experience as a personal trainer and Nutrition Therapist, my track record for delivering results stems from my uniquely compound approach to wellness and commitment to understanding and mapping each client’s fitness journey. I am passionate about continuous development and my clients are introduced to very versatile and diverse training protocols which generates results but also helps maintain engagement and motivation . As an amateur boxing and British weightlifting coach, I specialise in strength and performance conditioning. I am fully qualified and experienced in pre and post natal training as well as functional movement using protocols that encourage maximum mobility and body weight retraining like animal flow.


Some Great Achievements

Working with a Client for 15 months to lose 5 stones and go from a size 22 to current size 10/12, gaining confidence to take workouts from home, to outdoors and now to the gym where she no longer feels out of place.

Working with a number of clients with poor gut health including chronic acid reflux, constant bloating, poor digestion, and in general IBS in one form or another helping them through the gut healing process which can often affect fat loss results.

Introducing a client to power lifting (deadlift, back squats, bench press) and increasing strength to achieve combined power lift total of 420KG.

Pre and post natal training, alot of my clients train all the way to and through pregnancy and report a much easier birth and recovery.

Even though I only had 1 session, I would definitely recommend Vanessa as she is very professional, authentic and comforting about her work (reassuring myself I’m in good hands after my injury)!

I enjoy working out in the gym but wasn't confident to use the equipment properly. Vanessa is lovely, warm and kind and approached me and offered help to adjust a leg press. I had been considering having a few sessions with her and that made up my mind. I am approaching 60 and explained I wanted to use the gym to become stronger as I got older. I have been training with Vanesssa since April and during that time my fitness and energy levels have significantly improved. I have lost approx 15kg in weight and dropped down two dress sizes but the biggest impact has been the way she has helped me to improve my overall diet and nutrition. I first started PT sessions with Vanessa about 5 weeks ago. It is challenging but I'm really enjoying training with Vanessa.
She always keeps it interesting, introducing a diverse range of exercise, for example, strength training and cardiovascular exercises go keep me motivated. She also provides a fitness schedule and plan to do outside of the PT sessions.
What I like most is that Vanessa takes a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on fitness and diet, and nutrition. She also addresses the emotional and psychological factors that might impact good health and helps me to work through these issues so we create long term good habits and solutions.
So far I'm enjoying working with the free weights the most, something I would have been previously too afraid to try out. I'm looking forward to trying out kickboxing next! I have always disliked running but with Vanessa (and weekly sessions that involve running up steps!), I have been motivated to introduce running into my workout sessions. It has only been a few weeks since joining Vanessa but I can definitely see improvements in my overall fitness and flexibility. It's 2023 - new year, new me. I asked Vanessa to help me with giving my health a boost. I am in my early 40s and I never knew what my blood type was. I have been training with Vanessa for approximately 12 months. Vanessa has been amazing in tailoring a plan specifically for my needs. I had severe issues with my kidneys and as a result of this caused scoliosis, which caused me severe mobility issues and was unable to walk for 3 months. This had a massive impact on my mental health and career. Due to her extensive skill set, she has completely overhauled my lifestyle and I have now lost 30kg, have no pain or issues with my kidneys and no mobility issues. I had a personal kick-boxing session with Vanessa and it was one of the best sessions I have had to date. After speaking with her frequently in the gym, I began to learn that she had a lot of in depth knowledge in the fitness industry. So I was keen to get in a private session with her.
I initially only wanted to do boxing, but she assured me kick-boxing was going to be something I would enjoy. The hour session I had, was incredible. She worked me hard whilst also teaching me the correct techniques and tactics behind each combination. She was also very motivational throughout the session, which was a great help when my body started to fatigue.

On the occasions when I'm forced to miss sessions with Vanessa (c/o work pressures for example), I notice the difference instantly: Vanessa's sessions are as good for my mind as my body, not least because Vanessa takes great care never to repeat a session (they are all new and stimulating) and because Vanessa herself is excellent company: extremely well informed about, not just PT but all things health related and always concerned to do her best to help in any of these areas of life. I was really nervous about approaching a PT as I hadn’t been near a gym in years, and after being stuck at home alone throughout the pandemic I was very unfit both physically and mentally. I have been training with Vanessa now for nearly 4 yrs. I had just had my second child and with 2 children under 2 I was determined to lose the mountain of weight I gained during my pregnancies. I hit the gym all guns blazing, after she had watched me struggle and work so hard in the gym pushing myself though loads of cardio she approached me to offer some well needed advice. After my first few weeks I noticed a huge difference in training and mostly focused on weights ( something I was totally unfamiliar with) opening my eyes to the fact that to lose weight it’s not always about cardio. As I already have written in a former review, I am with Vanessa as a personal trainer since a few years which is important for my over-all health. I’d never been one for gyms or that sort of fitness. Always loved dancing and yoga but felt I needed to do more weights work and cardio. Not having a clue, I signed with a trainer. That was Vanessa. I absolutely loved the process. I loved her. I love her direct and honest approach. Our fantastic chats about everything whilst on that treadmill, falling around laughing with my weedy squats which became much improved by the way. Above all she has a great intuition and awareness and I felt she really saw ‘me’ and what I needed. She saw my strengths and weakness and what I naturally gravitated towards in my physicality. I first went to Vanessa 5 years ago when I was in my mid 60s to focus on my lack of flexibility and various aches which seem to be inevitable in getting older. Vanessa planned a whole range of different exercises for different parts of my body and the variety meant that each session was challenging and effective. My wife's gift of a set of training-sessions with Vanessa changed this all. She brought through a large variations of exercises supporting endurance, power and balance my performance to a much higher level so that these hikes became a joyful endeavor. Especially I would like to highlight how she was able to strengthen my shoulder which was permanently injured after a cross-country ski accident. Vanessa's instructions are clear and easy to follow and she always tries to get you to the highest reachable level accustomed to your individual potential. I can recommend her highly to anyone who is looking for body-improvement and more fun in doing exercises in the gym.

I've been training with Vanessa for a few months now and am absolutely loving the sessions. Vanessa will find your weaknesses and work on them, no cheating! She's great at working out your limit and helping you to push past it. I have been training with Vanessa for the last few years now and each session is still as tough as the first but still an enjoyable and rewarding experience every time.

I have worked with Vanessa for a number of years now. I'm in my 60's and Vanessa has helped me to keep fit after a mastectomy. She has been very helpful and supportive in providing advice about diet as well as exercises. She also attunes the exercises to the needs of your body, but challenges you to go the extra mile. Activities I've done with her include running, weight lifting, kick boxing and skipping as well as using a wide range of machines in the gym. I do not believe that I would have my current level of fitness without Vanessa. I have no hesitation in recommending her as an excellent personal trainer.

I selected Vanessa as a PT based on her biography & qualifications. Before we started, Vanessa took the time to talk through my goals and to understand my lifestyle. She took the scary out of being in a gym for someone who was very unfit and overweight. With training and suggestions to improve my diet, I have lost weight, become stronger and feel mentally better. She is engaging, encouraging, gets you out of your comfort zone and provides a variety of different training so you are not bored. Definately recommend for anyone looking to work with a PT.

Working with Vanessa over the past 18 months has been great. She’s significantly helped with both my exercise regime and diet / nutrition – helping me understand what does and doesn't work for my body type and physiology.
