Yes. A UK-qualified personal trainer can work in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE, provided an employer sponsors the work visa, which is how all three of the roles placed by YOUR Personal Training are structured. You do not arrange the visa yourself and you do not need to find a sponsor before applying. The two markets differ on where you need to be living when you apply. The Al Khobar role in Saudi Arabia is open to applicants anywhere in the world, with the employer covering visa sponsorship and accommodation. Is fitness industry pay in Saudi Arabia and the UAE really tax-free?
Yes. Neither Saudi Arabia nor the UAE levies personal income tax, so a monthly salary in either country is paid without deduction at source. That applies to all three coaching roles: SAR 4,000 a month in Al Khobar, and AED 12,000 and AED 9,000 a month for the Head Coach and Coach positions in Abu Dhabi, each with commission on top. Figures are quoted gross and commission is earned rather than guaranteed. Tax residency rules in your home country are a separate matter and worth checking independently, particularly if you expect to return within the same tax year.
Do you need to speak Arabic to work in fitness in the Gulf?
It depends on the employer. Fluent Arabic is essential for the Personal Trainer role at Sporti Sayedat in Al Khobar, with strong English preferred on top. For both Reformer Pilates roles in Abu Dhabi, fluent professional English is the only language requirement and Arabic is not needed.
