The Problem every gym has...but no one is solving right now...

Kore Partners with YOUR Personal Training to take the driver's seat for all PT recruitment and management across all sites.

For qualified Level 3 personal trainers, that opens self-employed placements across five Sandwell leisure centres: Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Wednesbury Leisure Centre, Tipton Leisure Centre, Tipton Sports Academy and Portway Lifestyle Centre. You keep 100% of your earnings and start with 6 weeks rent-free, one of the longest launch periods in the UK.

Gyms don't have a Personal Training problem; they have a time problem.

Recruiting trainers. Interviewing trainers. Onboarding trainers. Developing trainers. Retaining trainers. Helping them build successful businesses. Most operators know great coaching drives member results and retention, but managing a thriving PT ecosystem takes expertise, resource and relentless focus.

Across the leisure sector, operators are investing millions in facilities, equipment and member experience, yet many are still struggling with the same challenge, attracting and retaining exceptional coaching talent. That's why more operators are starting to ask a different question: what if we stopped treating Personal Training as an add-on service and started managing it as a specialist function in its own right?

That's why Kore has partnered with YOUR Personal Training to hand over the keys...

At its heart, this partnership is about one thing: helping more people succeed.

Kore has built its reputation on making health and wellbeing accessible to the communities it serves. YOUR Personal Training exists to help great coaches build successful careers and deliver life-changing results for the people they support. Together, we're creating an environment where both can thrive.

For members, that means better access to knowledgeable, motivating Personal Trainers who can help them feel more confident, train more effectively and achieve lasting results. For trainers, it means being part of a support system that allows them to focus on what they do best, changing lives.

Because great personal training shouldn't be an afterthought. It should be one of the most powerful parts of the member experience.

More Than Filling Vacancies

This isn't simply about recruiting trainers and hoping for the best.

It's about creating a culture of coaching excellence across every Kore site, attracting ambitious fitness professionals, helping them develop their skills and giving them the support they need to build long-term, successful careers.

When members get better results, everybody wins.

Raising the Bar

The fitness industry has never had more choice. Yet what people need most hasn't changed: expert guidance, genuine encouragement and someone in their corner who understands their goals.

That's the role great Personal Trainers play every day.

Together, Kore and YOUR Personal Training are committed to raising the standard of coaching available across their facilities, helping more people move better, feel stronger and build healthier habits that last.

James Lorey, Co-Owner and Director, YOUR Personal Training, said:

"We're incredibly excited to partner with Kore and deliver a fully managed personal training solution across their sites. This partnership demonstrates the confidence leading leisure operators have in OUR ability to transform PT services from a supplementary offering into a core driver of member results, engagement and revenue.

Our role extends far beyond recruitment. We'll be responsible for building, developing and supporting exceptional Personal Training teams that become an integral part of the member journey. By taking ownership of the entire PT function, we can create greater consistency, stronger trainer performance and ultimately better outcomes for both members and the operator.

We believe personal training should sit at the heart of every successful fitness facility, and together with Kore we're creating a model that takes PT provision to the next level."

Mark Braithwaite, CEO of Kore, said:

"At Kore, our mission is to help more people move better, feel stronger and live healthier lives. Personal training plays a vital role in helping members achieve those outcomes, which is why it was important for us to partner with an organisation that shares our commitment to quality, professionalism and long-term success.

YOUR Personal Training brings unrivalled expertise in developing and managing Personal Trainers, and their full-service approach gives us complete confidence that our members will receive exceptional support whilst creating exciting opportunities for fitness professionals across our sites.

This partnership represents a significant investment in the future of our fitness offering, and we're excited to work alongside YOUR PT to further enhance the experience for our members."

Are you a great PT stuck spending more time chasing clients than coaching them? Kore and YOUR PT are looking for ambitious trainers who want to build real businesses, not just collect rent invoices. If you're ready to coach more, grow faster and be backed by the UK's leading PT management team, we'd like to hear from you.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Kore Sandwell personal trainer roles employed or self-employed?

Every placement through YOUR Personal Training at Kore Sandwell is self-employed. You run your own business within the centre, set your own rates, manage your own schedule and keep 100% of what you earn. There is no salary and no revenue share. As a self-employed personal trainer, you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance.

Which Kore Sandwell centres are hiring personal trainers?

Five centres across Sandwell are open for applications: Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick, Wednesbury Leisure Centre, Tipton Leisure Centre, Tipton Sports Academy, and Portway Lifestyle Centre in Oldbury. Each centre has its own job page, linked in the table above, and all roles are managed by YOUR Personal Training.

What does 6 weeks rent-free mean?

For your first 6 weeks, no licence fee applies. That gives you time to settle into the centre and build your first clients before any ongoing costs begin. It is one of the longest launch periods in the UK and is designed to reduce the financial risk of starting out as a self-employed personal trainer.

How much can a personal trainer earn at Kore Sandwell?

Earnings are not fixed to a salary. Many trainers across the YOUR Personal Training network earn between £2,500 and £4,500+ per month by month six, depending on their session rate and client volume. These figures are typical rather than guaranteed. For wider context, the average personal trainer salary in Birmingham is £30,780 per year (Indeed, June 2026).

What qualifications do I need to apply?

You need a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification to apply, and this applies across all five centres. Both newly qualified and experienced personal trainers are welcome. The 6 weeks rent-free period and the structured business support are designed to give newer trainers a lower-risk route into self-employment.

What support do trainers get?

Placements include Forward by YOUR PT, a 24-week business development programme, alongside the Advanced Business Course, Instructor 2 Icon training, YOUR PT Hub and unlimited mentoring from Regional PT Managers. The aim is to help you reach your first paying clients quickly and build a sustainable personal training business.
